Preparing to Join the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) Climate Action Premium Credit Program

The NYSIF Climate Action Premium Credit Program offers a 5% annual workers’ compensation premium credit—up to $1 million—for healthcare sector organizations that commit to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve resilience to climate risks.

Participating organizations must submit a Climate Action Plan within 10 months of signing the pledge and show progress each year thereafter. A Climate Action Plan includes an annual inventory of all three scopes of greenhouse gas emissions, detailed plans to decarbonize emissions in line with the organization’s pledged goal, and efforts to enhance resilience to physical climate risks over time.
