Jim Johnson

Jim Johnson is a strategic leader with over 16 years of experience deploying energy solutions for commercial customers. He joined Environ Energy in 2024 as VP of Strategic Partnerships, where he leads efforts in energy efficiency and demand response markets.

Prior to Environ, Jim served as Director of OEM Partnerships at Proterra Energy, where he led the development and delivery of charging projects for fleet customers, particularly in the electric school bus sector. He also held the role of Director of Strategic Partnerships at EVBox, where he drove the sales of electric vehicle charging hardware through a network of resellers, distributors, and utilities. Jim’s experience extends to CLEAResult and Ecova, where he managed commercial energy efficiency programs and developed innovative solutions for utilities.

Jim holds an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he was class valedictorian and recipient of the Norman Block Award. He also holds an AB in Economics from Brown University, where he was a captain of the varsity baseball team.
