CASE STUDY: The Swig Company

Improving Sustainability Communications

Solutions: Sustainability Disclosures, ESG Reporting

The Swig Company has long possessed a strong commitment to sustainability, and many of its properties have LEED and other green building certifications. However, the company wanted to improve how it was communicating that message to its stakeholders. As a smaller privately held firm, The Swig Company needed support and guidance on how best to share its story strategically and broadly.

Strategy

We helped the company overcome the initial learning curve around the complex world of sustainability disclosures. With our expert
assistance and tailored approach, the firm’s sustainability team was able to apply global reporting standards and frameworks — GRI
(Global Reporting Initiative) and GRESB — to its inaugural reporting program. Our dedicated professionals have worked with The Swig Company’s sustainability team year after year, offering personalized services to help identify priorities and report on its evolving efforts. As a result, The Swig Company has increased its level of public disclosures and is more transparent about its sustainability
initiatives to better engage key stakeholders.

An Ongoing Partnership

Through our continued collaboration, the firm has been able to successfully communicate its ongoing sustainability journey and
navigate the rapidly changing reporting and compliance space. We help develop The Swig Company’s annual environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reports and assist with new initiatives, such as creating an expanded scope of metrics, designing performance dashboards and conceptualizing future disclosure needs in preparation for regulatory compliance. We also collaborate with existing technology partners to add value to the company’s climate strategy. Our engagement empowered The Swig Company team to update its 2024 ESG Report in-house with guidance from our experts.

“Environ’s support has been crucial in enhancing our sustainability efforts. Their dedicated team guided us through complexities, shaping our goals and strengthening our communication. Through ongoing collaboration on reporting and governance, we have built a true partnership.”
